Day 9-

I know many of you have concerns about your children and how this pandemic has effected their lives, the lives of their friends and most importantly how it's effecting them mentally. I know so many kids that will not be able to walk the stage this year for graduation or end the year with their high school senior prom and I worry how it's effecting them. All of these things that we take for granted because it never happened to us. Imagine for a minute if it did. The disappointment and the profound sadness we would have felt. Remember how important it was when you were 17 or 18 years old. It's certainly something I looked forward to my senior year and they are being robbed of that experience. It makes me sad. We are all going to miss the Facebook photos that our friends take of their kids as they prepare for their night out in fancy dresses, the limos and the tuxedos. I don't know about you but that has been weighing on me this year and I will miss it. Those things that we take for granted because we know they happen every year. Except this year because this beast doesn't seem like it's going away any time soon. It is ruining the flow of things, the process of life, our joy and the joy of our children.

I feel for those kids and hope that somehow, in the end we can make it up to them. I can't even imagine how they must all be feeling at this moment. How scared and uncertain about the outcome and their futures. Afraid of what lies ahead.

How can we make it up to them? Will it be the same? Something to think about.
