Day 7-

Happy Palm Sunday everyone I hope you have had a great day- Today may be a bit different for a lot of you that attend church to celebrate. Hopefully you have been able to at least watch a service on TV. I am hopeful that this quarantine will only be a few more weeks and we can put this whole pandemic in the past, at least for the time being and hopefully it will not be something that we continue to worry about all summer. I don't know about you but I am so looking forward to the flowers and the birds and bees. My gorgeous Mandevilla sure does brighten the house on those dreary days.
I am working on sanding down the top of the sideboard that Art got me for my birthday. It's oak and in really good shape except for the top. Sanding is a chore especially when there are really deep gouges in the finish. I will sand it down completely and then hopefully be able to find a stain to match the piece. I am going to place it on the long wall in my living room with 2 lamps. This side of my living room was a bit dark and really could use some additional lightening. Can't wait for it to be finished.

Day2- Today's Lunch was very interesting. Using leftover Broccoli from dinner last night I made a Broccoli and Egg scramble, Broccoli, Eggs and butter. It was pretty good but I am still craving the carbs that I have known and loved my whole life. Every morning my breakfast consisted of a cup of decaf  coffee 2 creams, 2 sugars, 2 slices of toast with peanut butter (lots of peanut butter). Yum! I do miss it but now I have opted to skip breakfast, no coffee, no toast with Peanut Butter and wait for lunch after I have fasted for at least 16-18 hours. Then I do a 2 egg and veggie lunch then a Keto friendly dinner and no food after 8pm. Tonight's dinner is a steak with roasted carrots and broccoli and beets. I've so got this!!!! I have been drinking a lot more water though I am not drinking what I should be yet (it's only day 2) but I will get there. I have got to do this. Day 32- Aman's Farm & Market, an Irondequoit Icon- Farm to table is the best and freshest way for us to be eating. Not only is it healthy it supports local farmers and brings locally grown foods to tables within our community.                                                         One of my favorite markets right here in Irondequoit is Aman's Farm & Market, 2458 East Ridge Road. I like it for many reasons, the history, the atmosphere and the quality of goods they sell. In the spring & summer they have an excellent selection of plants. From hanging baskets to vegetable plants to flowers and shrubs, a little of everything, all at great prices. Lake Bluff Road and Fort Des Sables- Once near the site of Fort Des Sables, Lake bluff Road has one of the nicest lake views in Irondequoit.   Established in 1717 as a stockaded French fur trading post for trade with the Seneca Indians, one of the five Iroquois Indian Nations. It was located on the Lake Ontario Shore at the entrance to Irondequoit Bay. The post was built by a Frenchman, Louis Thomas Joncaire, who was an interpreter and negotiator. Joncaire had been captured by the Seneca at age 17 and had lived among them until 1694 when he was released. His understanding of the Iroquois language, culture and customs proved to be a great help in reestablishing the French fur trade after the disastrous wars between 1680 and 1700.  Located on Culver Road east of Lake Bluff Road the site was destroyed by construction of Route 590 Expressway.                                     ...
