Day 33-

Our Sweet Kitty-

As every cat owner knows, adopting a new furry friend is a special and unforgettable experience. Is there anything sweeter than a kitten to cuddle with?
Just over a year ago our family gave our hearts to a beautiful rescue Kitty that we named Jacob. Jacob started his life on the city streets and was living in less than desirable conditions for the first 6 weeks of his life.

He was rescued by a kind person who heard him under their porch, alone, cold and afraid. He called for him and he ran from under the porch into his arms, happy to touch a human for the first time.

This kind individual him took him to the vet and the wonderful tech took him home. He had a warm and loving foster home. Jacob was fostered by the daughter of a girl I worked with and she was looking for a home for him. I couldn't say no. Sight unseen we took him in and he has brought us nothing but joy and happiness since. He's the most photographed kitty in the world.

After a short period of Chaos and rough introductions to our other pets it has all been worth it in the end. Jacob has brought a whole lot of love into our house. He is a sweet boy and he is always there to cheer you up on a bad day. He never stops purring and giving hugs.

I think that the Kittens and Cats that have had a rough start to life have so much more love to give. I have always found this to be true.

There are so many wonderful people in this community that have dedicated their lives to the care of some of the most helpless cats and kittens in the city and surrounding suburbs. I would like to give a loving shout out to Irondequoit resident Janine Wagner. Janine gives so much of herself to rescue, house and feed the cats in many communities in Rochester. And another huge thank you to Frank Vaccaro for all that he does to help to locate those cats that are lost, and a host of other things. A big thank you to all those that I have not mentioned here. Your service to this community and others does not go unnoticed. Frank helped us this past year when our Jacob ran out the back door while I was letting out the dogs. I will forever be grateful for his kindness.

From the streets to living in the lap of luxury, Jacob has it all. We love him dearly and can't imagine our home without him.
Next time you are thinking of adopting a Kitty, please try one of the many rescues in the area, your Kitty will thank you for many years to come.

Until Tomorrow- Be Safe
