Day 19-

The Thursday Drive-

There is so much beauty in the unexpected. Every corner you turn or road that you drive can hold something so special, thought provoking and magical. That is what happened on our Thursday afternoon drive,  through our beautiful town that is surrounded by the most precious of resources, Lake Ontario, The Irondequoit Bay and The Genesee River. Irondequoit like many of the towns in Monroe County has some of the prettiest homes, hidden roads and unusual places. We have explored many of the roads in town but I know there are many more to be found.

Today we took a long and winding drive, not to far from home in East Irondequoit. We drove down Hoffman Rd and came across a fruit farm in the middle of a residential neighborhood, with horses too! (a better camera is on its way) The snow was just starting to come down which made for a beautiful scene. Although the day was a bit gloomy the drive was still very nice and the horses were just majestic.

We drove a bit further in the Huntington Hills Neighborhood and came across this thoughtful lawn sign. It put a smile on our faces especially considering the circumstances around the world at this time. It's nice to see this in our hometown.

This house is so pretty and I can remember years ago going here for an Estate Sale. The interior of this house is nothing short of AMAZING! It is everything you think of when you imagine scenes from Hansel & Gretel or Stories from Grimm's Fairy Tales or Hans Christian Anderson. It has the most beautiful piece of property as well. My kind of house!

Lastly we drove down Bay View Rd along the bay and through the woods. There are many small cottages that line the bay shore and many large homes as well. A nice mix. The area itself is so densely wooded you may feel as though you are driving through the Adirondack mountains. We also spotted a few Great blue and green heron enjoying what we all hope will be the last snows of the early spring. They must be so cold! If you look in the photo you will spot them too.

It was a beautiful peaceful drive on a beautiful peaceful day. The day started out with bright sunshine but quickly the clouds and snow rolled in. It was still one of those days that you remember with a smile, a memory created. Lastly we can't forget to include our precious Trixie. She is forever our companion on our drives. She looks so forward to her rides and her special occasional treat for being such a good girl.
